Jennifer brings a wealth of teaching experience ranging from preschool age beginners to advanced high school students. She has been on faculty at Northwestern Music Academy, Piano Preparatory Division of North Central College, and Keyboard Skills department at DePaul University.
Jennifer has participated in local, state and national music conferences as a clinician and teacher demonstrator, and stay active as an adjudicator for various piano festivals and competitions in the area. Her students have been award winners in local piano festivals and have been invited to perform at local conferences and area music groups. Many of her students have gone on to pursue careers in music. She is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association, Illinois State Music Teachers Association, the North Shore Music Teachers Association, Northwest Suburban Music Teachers Association, and the Libertyville Piano Club.
At the local level, Jennifer has served as President, Sonatina Festival chair, and is currently the AIM chair for NSMTA, 1st Vice President and Program chair for NWSMTA and Certification chair for NSMTA and NWSMTA. At the state level, she is the Board of Director for Competitions for ISMTA and MTNA competitions as well as a member of the AIM committee, and at the national level, she has served as the East Central Division National Commissioner for MTNA Certification.
When not busy with piano related activities, Jennifer enjoys knitting, crocheting, exploring new crafting, as well as traveling with her husband, Brad, her co-chair of life and piano events!
Jennifer Cohen resides in Hawthorn Woods, IL where she maintains a successful home studio.
